Our Story

Born from a single phone call.

In 2001, a small group of volunteers in East London answered a single call from a woman who had nowhere else to turn. That call became a helpline. The helpline became a service. And that service has now grown into Victim Support International UK — a charity that walks beside tens of thousands of survivors every year.

Today our work spans counselling, legal advocacy, education, refugee support and international partnerships in 32 countries. But the heartbeat is the same: making sure no one walks through trauma alone.

Mission

Why we exist

The vision of the organization is to fundamentally transform the global landscape into a place where survivors of trauma are met with immediate belief and total validation without question. They advocate for a world where administrative or societal barriers are removed, ensuring that essential support is delivered without any delay or hesitation. By prioritizing the empowerment of the individual, they aim to provide the tools necessary for survivors to reclaim their independence and agency. Ultimately, they strive for a future where every person can transcend their past experiences to lead a life that is safe, fulfilling, and entirely self-determined.
